Care labels are small sewn-in tags that show what a garment is made of and how to wash it. Since 2014, Etiket.az has made them in Baku for apparel brands. We print care labels on Japanese nylon taffeta and English satin, in any language you need.
A good care label protects both the shopper and your brand. Buyers avoid ruining clothes in the wash, so you get fewer returns. Many export markets, including the EU, also require fiber content.

What a care label must show
Most care labels include the details below, because shoppers look for them first:
- Fiber content: names and percentages, for example 95% cotton and 5% elastane.
- Care symbols: washing, bleaching, drying, ironing and professional cleaning.
- Size: S, M, L, XL or numeric sizing.
- Country of origin: for example, “Made in Azerbaijan”.
- Extras: brand name, style code or warnings.

Nylon taffeta vs satin labels: which to choose
A care label touches the skin, so the material must be thin yet durable. We work with two tapes: nylon taffeta, known locally as “akmaz”, and English satin.

How the print holds up in the wash
Most printers use thermal transfer or flexography for these labels. In thermal transfer, heat and pressure move ink from a ribbon onto the tape, so even tiny text comes out sharp. For long runs, however, flexo can cost less. Therefore, we choose the method by run size, colors and material.
Printed care labels in three languages
Brands that also sell abroad often list fiber content in several languages. For example, “pambıq / хлопок / cotton” fits on one line. Symbols, by contrast, work in any language: five basic signs cover washing, bleaching, drying, ironing and professional care. We size each care label to fit your text. For example, tape width is usually 20–40 mm, and length depends on the number of languages. For long text, we make a center-fold label.

Content and materials
What information must a care label include?
Typically, it shows fiber content, size, country of origin and care symbols. If you export, check the target market’s rules. For example, in the EU, Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011 governs textile fiber names. For sales in Azerbaijan, we recommend adding Azerbaijani text as well.
Nylon taffeta or satin: which is better?
It depends on the garment. Nylon taffeta is firmer and handles hot water and detergents, so it suits shirts and outerwear. Satin, however, is softer and gentle on the skin. As a result, it is the usual choice for lingerie and babywear.
Can you print in several languages?
Yes. For example, brands in Azerbaijan often combine Azerbaijani, Russian and English on one label. For other languages, just send the final text. Each extra language makes the label longer, so we agree on size at the proof stage.
Printing, supply and ordering
Will the print wash off?
Not when the print method and ribbon match the material. We also factor in the garment’s wash settings. Still, we suggest sewing a few labels from the first batch into a garment and washing it. That way, you can confirm the result.
Do you supply rolls or cut labels?
Both. Rolls suit factories with automatic cutting equipment. Cut labels, however, are easier for small workshops that sew by hand. We can also make center-fold labels for side seams. Not sure? Tell us how you attach labels, and we will advise.
