Labels for food, confectionery and beverages

Each product group has its own needs. For example, a candy box needs shelf appeal, while a bottle label must survive moisture and cold. So the table below helps you pick the right food and beverage labels fast.

Roll labels for filling and packing lines

If you pack hundreds of units a day, roll labels make applying food and beverage labels much faster. You can apply them by hand or with an applicator. However, an applicator needs four specs up front: core size, roll diameter, winding direction and label gap. You will usually find them in the machine manual.

Barcode labels for retail chains

To supply supermarkets, your packaging needs barcode labels. In retail, EAN-13 is the standard format. You get the barcode number (GTIN) from GS1 Azerbaijan. Our guide on how to get a barcode walks you through the steps.

Scannability depends on print quality. So on food and beverage labels, we use dark bars on white, a clear quiet zone and enough size. Also, under GS1 rules, EAN-13 should not print below 80% of its nominal size.

Materials for food and beverage labels: cold, wet and oily

Material choice starts with storage conditions. For dry goods and boxes, paper labels work well. In a fridge, a wet room or on an oily surface, however, polypropylene film lasts longer. Frozen products also need a freezer-grade adhesive that holds at low temperatures.

  • Dry goods and boxes: paper labels.
  • Cold and wet: film with water-resistant print.
  • Oily packaging: film or varnished paper.
  • Frozen: freezer-grade adhesive.

What a food label must show

A food label typically lists several key details. These include the product name, ingredients, net quantity, production and best-before dates, storage conditions, and the producer’s name and address. We also advise highlighting allergens within the ingredients list.

Check the exact rules on the website of AQTA, Azerbaijan’s Food Safety Agency, and in current technical regulations. In addition, the Codex Alimentarius standards offer an international reference. Our food label requirements article has a full checklist. The producer is responsible for the text, while we help make it legible.

Tamper-evident seals

VOID security labels work well on delivery bags, boxes and lids. If someone peels one off, the word “VOID” or a pattern stays behind, so any opening shows at once. As a result, food deliveries and gift sets earn more trust.

Labels for food producers: lead times and reorders

The first order depends on material, quantity and artwork readiness, so we confirm the date in your quote. Reorders skip the design stage because the artwork is already approved. As a result, they usually move faster. Plan your stock ahead, so your line never waits for food and beverage labels.

  1. Step 1: Product and conditions

Describe the product, container and storage conditions.

  2. Step 2: Material and format

We choose paper or film, rolls or sheets, together.

  3. Step 3: Proof

We place the text, barcode and design, then send a proof.

  4. Step 4: Production

    Printing starts after your approval.

  5. Step 5: Handover

We hand the finished rolls and labels over in Baku, with the quantity marked on each pack.

Frequently asked questions

Which label material suits food production?
It depends on storage. For dry goods and boxes, paper labels are enough. In fridges and wet or oily conditions, however, film lasts longer. Frozen products also need freezer-grade adhesive. Describe your product, and we will suggest the right material for your food and beverage labels.
Can we order barcode labels from you?
Yes. We can print the barcode on the main label itself or as a separate roll. First, though, you need a GTIN from GS1 Azerbaijan. You send us the codes, and we place them in the proof for approval. Always double-check the digits before printing.
How long do reorders take?
Reorders skip the design stage because the artwork is already approved. As a result, they usually take less time than the first order. The exact lead time depends on quantity and material, so we confirm it in your quote. Order before stock runs out, and your line keeps moving.

Flavors and responsibility

Can several flavors go in one order?
Yes. Items of the same size and material, such as different flavors, can share one order. That is usually cheaper, and we confirm the terms in your quote. However, each item gets its own proof, so ingredients and weights never get mixed up.
Who is responsible for the information on the label?
The producer is responsible for the text and its legal compliance. We, in turn, advise on font size, contrast and barcode placement. That is why you should check the rules against official AQTA sources. Before approving a proof, read every number carefully.
