Woven labels show your logo and text with colored yarn instead of ink. Weavers make them on looms fitted with a Jacquard mechanism, which controls every thread and builds the design thread by thread. As a result, the color sits in the yarn itself and doesn't fade in the wash. Since 2014, Etiket.az has supplied woven labels to clothing brands, ateliers and garment factories in Azerbaijan.

Types of woven labels: damask, satin and taffeta
The weave quality largely defines how a label looks. We usually recommend damask, because it offers the best balance of detail and durability.

Sizes, folds and cut options
We make woven clothing labels in any size. However, clients most often choose 20×30, 15×50, 20×60, 25×70 or 40×40 mm. The minimum width is 15 mm.
- Straight cut: you sew the label on all four sides, so it suits any seam.
- End fold: we fold both ends back, so the label is easier to sew in.
- Center fold: we fold the label in half, and both sides can carry information.
- Loop fold: the label doubles as a hanging loop, for example on towels.
After weaving, we cut the labels with a laser, because the beam seals the edge. On upholstered furniture, makers usually sew a center-folded label at the back, where it stays discreet.
Colors, detail and metallic thread
A standard woven label has two colors: the background and the logo. If your design needs more, we add colors, typically up to 8 including the background. Send Pantone codes, and we will pick the closest shades from the thread catalog. Thread palettes differ from print, so we can't promise a perfect match, but the difference is usually minimal. For textiles, the Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors system (TCX codes) works especially well.
Design tips
- Keep text at least 2 mm tall, or letters may merge.
- We slightly thicken lines finer than 0.3 mm.
- Use flat color areas instead of gradients or photos.
- Keep metallic elements bold, since metallic thread is thicker.

Sew-in, iron-on and adhesive backing
Sewing is the most reliable option, because the label stays for the garment's whole life. An iron-on backing, however, helps where sewing is difficult. Adhesive backing suits packaging and accessories better. We confirm which options work for your design in the quote.

What is the minimum order for woven labels?
The minimum order is 1,000 pieces. Loom setup and yarn preparation make tiny runs uneconomical, because the unit cost would be too high. As quantity grows, the unit price drops noticeably. If your order includes several designs, we confirm the split in the quote.
How long does woven label production take?
Plan for about 10–15 business days after artwork approval. Quantity, colors, metallic thread and our current workload all affect timing, so we state the exact date in your quote. If your collection has a fixed launch date, mention it in your request.
How can I lower the cost of woven labels?

Design and materials
What is the difference between woven and printed satin labels?
