A teardrop seal joins both string ends inside a teardrop-shaped plastic body. Once it clicks shut, the only way to remove the tag is to cut the string. As a result, this type of tag pin protects the hang tag from loss and swapping. The teardrop also adds a visual accent to denim and outerwear.

Metal and aluminum fasteners

Choosing tag pin length and color

The right length depends on where the tag hangs. On a shirt, for example, the tag usually goes through a buttonhole or the neck label, so a short string is enough. Coats, bags and shoes need a slightly longer one, because the tag should hang freely without pulling on the fabric.

There are two ways to approach color. First, match the string to the tag for a calm, unified look. Second, use a contrasting color as a brand accent. If you send your brand color as a Pantone code, we can find the closest stock shade faster. Custom-dyed string depends on the run size.

Matching hang tag strings with hang tags

A fastener is part of the tag, so it pays to plan both together. We usually punch a 3 mm or 5 mm hole in hang tags. A thin string suits a small hole, while a thick string or a seal tag needs a larger one. For a heavy 700 gsm board tag, we also recommend stronger tag pins.

Wholesale packs and minimum order

We sell tag pins wholesale, in packs. The minimum for stock strings depends on type and color, so we confirm the exact figure in your quote. Logo locks usually have a higher minimum, because they need a custom mold or tool.
