Metal Tag Pins and Aluminum Fasteners

Metal tag pins give a hang tag weight, shine and a premium feel. In Baku, we supply metal and aluminum hang tag fasteners wholesale. They look especially good on denim, bags and leather goods. You can also order them with your hang tags.

Metal models are the premium end of our tag pins and hang tag strings range. For mass-market runs, plastic is usually enough. However, if your product sits in a higher price segment, the fastener should match that level.

Premium look

A metal lock adds weight and a sense of quality.

Lightweight aluminum

A metal look without the extra weight.

Corrosion-resistant

Aluminum does not rust, even in humid storage.

Range of finishes

Silver, gold, black and more, confirmed in your quote.

Recyclable

You can recycle aluminum again and again.

What are metal tag pins?

A metal tag pin combines a string with a metal lock. You thread the string through the tag hole and the product's loop, then secure the ends in the lock. Some models use a solid metal lock, while others have a metal-look finish. Either way, the tag looks noticeably more refined than with a plastic fastener.

Aluminum (also spelled aluminium) is the lightest option in this group. It does not rust and keeps its shine for a long time. According to The Aluminum Association, the metal is corrosion-resistant and infinitely recyclable. That suits brands with sustainability goals, too.

Match the lock finish to your tag design. Silver, gold and black are the most popular, and your quote lists the finishes in stock. String length depends on where the tag hangs: longer for bag handles, shorter for a jeans belt loop.

Metal or plastic: which to choose

The choice depends on your price point and brand style. Plastic fasteners are light and affordable, so they suit mass-market runs. Metal, by contrast, signals quality at first glance. In addition, shoppers feel the weight the moment they pick up the tag.

  • Your product sits in the premium or upper-mid price segment.
  • Your tag is heavy 700 gsm board or leather.
  • Your brand already uses metal hardware: buttons, rivets, zippers.
  • You store goods in humid conditions and need rust-free aluminum.

For budget-friendly bulk runs, however, plastic tag pins remain the better value.

Aluminum tag fasteners for premium tags and leather

A metal lock works best with a quality tag. We make hang tags from 350 gsm paper with matte lamination and from heavy 700 gsm board. On heavy board, we can also emboss selected elements. Paired with a metal fastener, such a tag creates a consistent premium set.

The same logic applies to leather goods. On a bag or belt with a leather label, a metal lock echoes the hardware. For example, a bag with a gold zipper calls for a gold lock, while nickel hardware pairs best with silver.

Who uses metal tag pins

Denim, outerwear and premium fashion brands choose metal tag pins most often. Leather goods makers order them for bags, belts, wallets and shoes. You will also see metal-fastened tags in gift packaging and accessory stores.

What affects the price

  • Material: a solid metal lock costs more than a metal-look one.
  • Finish: special colors or an antique effect raise the price.
  • Logo: a custom lock needs setup and a larger run.
  • Quantity: each lock costs less as the run grows.

Metal tag pins FAQ

Which products suit metal tag pins?
They suit premium apparel, denim, outerwear, bags, belts and shoes. Metal looks especially good with heavy board or leather tags. For budget bulk runs, however, plastic offers better value. If you are unsure, send us a photo of your product, and we will choose together.
Do aluminum fasteners rust?
No, aluminum does not rust the way iron does. A natural oxide layer on its surface protects the metal from corrosion. As a result, aluminum fasteners keep their look in humid storage and during long shipping. Still, keep them away from harsh chemicals.
Are metal tag pins reusable?
Most metal fasteners are single-use, so removing the tag means cutting the string. This also protects the tag from swapping. Some models do reopen, and we confirm their availability on request. After use, you can recycle an aluminum lock as scrap metal.
Can you add our logo to a metal lock?
Many models can carry a brand name or logo. The method and minimum run depend on the lock type, so we confirm the terms in your quote. Send vector artwork (AI, PDF, EPS or SVG). Metal does not hold fine details well, so a simple logo works best.
Can a metal lock damage fabric?
Attached correctly, a metal lock does not harm fabric. However, it is heavy, so we do not recommend attaching it directly to delicate fabric. Instead, thread the string through a sewn-in label, buttonhole or belt loop. That way, you protect the fabric and the product's look.
